Superb annual for mixed borders. Plants have grey-green glaucous leaves, wiry stems with loose racemes of beautiful lilac flowers veined with dark purple. The flowers have a slight sweet scent. In mild and dry areas it is a short-lived perennial. Full sun on dry and well drained soils.
